Jane came a long way in July as far as her motor skills go. She is much more active and is trying really hard to keep up with the others. Although she is still not crawling on her hands and knees she sure gets around.
Jane likes to climb up and sit on this little bench.
Everyone always wants to sit with her when they see her playing here.
She has also become acquainted with the house.
Note: This is the best toy for little ones EVER! We bought it for Emma when she was one and ALL of our kids have spent HOURS playing with it.
Philip and Jacob are also learning new tricks.
Everyone seems to be growing!
About mid month Jane started doing her best to stand, though a little shaky.
And after months of ignoring them, she decided to tackle the stairs.
Philip has shown her all the best places to make a mess.
Mess? Me? Never!
This month we also embarked on a big family vacation. We traveled to Utah and after 24 hours of driving in a car, spaced over two days. We arrived at Nato's parent's house. While we were so comfortably accommodated we also got to play tourist with them for a week.
First we went to Kennecott Copper Mine.
Papa Taylor worked here for over 30 years and we wanted the kids to see the amazing size of everything!
It was fun to have cousins come with us. No one would guess these kids hadn't seen each other for five years. Plus Ryan was such a big help with Philip and Benjamin we almost felt we should pay him a salary! :)
We also got to go to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point.
That is a place for lots of imagination,
and fun.
Nato could have spent HOURS there reading everything!
The kids could have spent hours there on all the interactive stuff.
The sweetest day was at Temple Square.
We have spent the last couple of Family Home Evenings learning about the pioneers. There was a story in the Friend magazine about this cabin and the kids were really excited to actually see it.
Both Robin and Nato come from pioneer ancestors and we were grateful for a chance to teach the kids all about it.
Plus the next day we got a sitter for all the kids and got to attend the Salt Lake Temple. It was Robin's first time EVER to do a session there.
Grandma Taylor surprised us with a private guided tour of the Church Office Building.
Emma couldn't resist sitting in Pres. Monson's chair. We also got to see is actual office and meet his sweet secretary. (Pres. Monson was fishing that day. Good for him!)
It was a real special treat and we appreciate Grandma Taylor's thoughtfulness in it.
The whole time we spent with the Taylors was fun. The kids already miss there sweet cousins and look forward to seeing them again.
We also got to spend a day with our BYU family on our trip. The Linns are as close to family as you can get without actual blood or marriage vows. Milt and Nato were roommates at BYU and Devon and Robin couldn't have been happier to become friends through our engagements, marriages and now mother-hoods. We love their kids and our kids affectionately call Milt and Devon, Uncle Milt (or Uncle Milk depending on the size of our child) and Aunt Devon. They now live in Pennsylvania and so this was a special treat to be on vacation in Utah the same week they were. We met up at BYU to walk the campus and visit, but we did more visiting then walking. I don't think any of us regret that!
