We started off our New Year with an Eagle Court of Honor for Jake and Benjamin
These four boys had a magnificent Court of Honor together.
They were all gifted with US Flags that had been flown over the US Capitol Building on dates significant to each individual boy, in the boy's honor for their accomplishment to the rank of Eagle Scout.
Later that evening--"Did they fly my flag over the capitol building in an airplane or a helicopter?"--Benjamin
"They flew it over the US Capitol Building waving on a FLAG POLE!"--Nato
The Eagles Nest and all the Eagles in attendance reciting the Eagle Oath.
We had the Court of Honor with two other boys. The young man next to Ben work hard along side Ben through all of his Merit Badges and Ranks. The young man next to Jake always wanted to do his Eagle court of Honor with Jake. Jake actually earned his Eagle Rank in August of 2018, but he diligently waited for his friend to finish in December of 2019 in order to have their Court of Honor together. This is how we ended up with such a great event of Four Eagle Scouts!
As a Merit Badge Counselor, Robin helped many scouts earn Merit Badges in Cooking, Family Life, Communications, and many more areas. She worked very closely with many of the boys over the last two years. This young man gifted her the honor of a Mentor Pin. (A sign and symbol that a leader did more than teach, but was an example and mentor to the scout)
Of course, this made Robin cry.

In the Drama class Jake is taking at the local High School, they had an event they called the 24 Hours Plays. The concept was a group of plays written rehearsed and performed in just 24 hours. Some of the students were writers and at about 7 pm Friday night they brainstormed ideas and then began writing until 7 am on Saturday.
At 7 am the remaining students met at the school and received the scripts and had until 5 pm that night to cast and rehearse the plays. Jake had a group of five students that he was the director over. They rehearsed all day and at 5 pm they put on their plays. Everything was finished by 7 pm Saturday night.
Jake really LOVED the opportunity to direct.
