Paris

While we were in France we got to spend a day touring Paris.
It started with a bus tour that picked us up at Disneyland Paris and drove us into and around Paris.

We were shown all kinds of monuments and buildings.
 Like Notre Dame Cathedral.
There were two different English audio Tours.   One for adults and one for Kids.  Everyone, except Jacob, listened to the kid version.  Jacob listened to the adult version because he didn't want to miss anything important.
 The river.

 The Arche de Triomphe
 Jane - "Triomphed"
 Philip

 Benjamin
 Eiffel Tower

At the end of the bus tour we stopped at the Louvre. We had a little lunch and then we met one on the most famous women ever!

 Mona Lisa
I was seriously in awe about how beautiful this painting truly is.  No wonder it is so famous.
 Jacob and Emma
 Robin and Jane
We only had time to walk around about 1/8 of the museum.
It is an extremely large place.

Our next stop was a boat tour up and down the river.
Benjamin and Philip listening to the audio on the boat.
Jacob - determined to learn it all.

 Matthew

There are several bridges over the river where people "Lock their Love."  They take a padlock, carve their initials in it and lock it onto the side of the bridge.  Then they through the key into the river to symbolize that they will never break the lock on their love.  The locks actually sparkle in the sun light and make the bridges glimmer.

 Notre Dame Cathedral

 Another lock bridge.

Jane out helping Nato take photos on the boat.

Our last stop was the Eiffel Tower.

We went up to the second level.  Again our time was short and the top level wasn't possible on this trip.
It was pretty foggy so we couldn't see very far, but it was still neat to go up.
According to our audio tour guide, The people of Paris didn't really like the looks of the tower originally.

I think they are glad they didn't get rid of it.

The family standing at the bottom.

This is for Mom.  She says there are not enough photos of Nato on the blog. (Can I help it if I take the best photos?)
 Jacob
We saw a lot in just one day, but we will have to go back and see more.  Hopefully with a lot less fog. At least it didn't rain!

Disneyland A la Mode

That is the best way to describe our first trip ever to Disneyland Paris.
(Emma in the Queen of Hearts Chair)

It was all the Disney we have learned to love.
(Front: Jane, Nato, Emma.  Back: Philip, Benjamin, Jacob.  Slinky's Spin)
We just had to keep our coats on most the time.
(Benjamin)
The cold and icy feeling didn't take away from the fun.
(Philip, Matthew, Jane, Jacob, Emma, & Benjamin)
Of being in a Disney park once again.
(Jacob)

We just had to learn how to dress for comfort and fun.
(Jane: Dumbo the flying Elephant)

After the first day we got the hang of the weather.
(Jacob: Dumbo)

The little boys wore their PJ's under their clothes.
(Philip: King Arthur's Carousel)

We bought them all little cotton gloves.
(Jane, Emma, Benjamin, Jacob, Philip)

And soon we were feeling nice and comfy in our new Disney home.
(Captain Hook's Pirate Ship)

(Matthew, Nato & Jane: Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.)
Jane loved this ride.  You go up 80 feet and then you are dropped back to the ground.  Matthew loved the first time up, but the first time down proved a little intense for him.  Although he recovered quickly for the next ride.

The rest of the Taylor Troops also loved this ride, but the wait time was the worst we had all week.
(Emma: Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.)

Apparently the cold keeps many weaklings away.
(Philip, Nato, Benjamin, Jacob)
More fun for all of us!
(Emma, Jane, & Matthew: Slinky's Spin)

Lights, Motors, Action: Staring Lighting McQueen!
The Spy Lighting hunts down and destroys!

 Watching the show.

Philip, Benjamin and Jane: Singing in the Rain
 Scream O' Meters
 Meeting Mike - Kind of
Sunday: Hanging out in the hotel room.
We were in a hotel with a "wild west" theme.  This was the view from our room window.

Philip's first ride on star tours.
When the ship went into "hyperspace," Philip turned to Nato and asked very concerned, "Dad, are we loosing Mommy?"

Nato and Matthew: Story Book Land
 Jane
The Dragon living under Sleeping Beauty's Castle
 Philip
 (Nato)
It was a great first trip and these are just the highlights.  Hop a plane and we would love to meet you there and show you around.  And trust us.  Although it was too cold to actually eat ice cream, we made up for the calories with lots of hot cocoa!!!!
